Attending QS MAPLE 2018, UNAIR Ready to Hold Global Level Summit Thursday, 08 March 2018 00:56

UNAIR NEWS – The participation of Universitas Airlangga in the event of QS MAPLE 2018 represented by Vice Rector IV Junadi Khotib, Ph.D., has some purposes. One of the most important objectives is the preparation of UNAIR to host the global level summit in October.

The 2018 QS MAPLE event was held at The Gulf Hotel Manama, Bahrain, from Sunday, March 4 to Tuesday, March 6. For the event, Junaidi said that UNAIR’s participation and activeness in various global level events is intended to improve international recognition to UNAIR.

“They are efforts made by UNAIR to get recognition in the international arena,” he said.

In addition, in front of the local media crew, Junaidi also said that UNAIR is ready to host the global event taking place next October.  UNAIR will organize a summit in health focused on oncology studies.

Regarding the summit, added Junaidi, it focuses on the right topic because UNAIR has a very good medical education. It can be seen from the stem cell research center, ITD, teaching hospital, veterinary hospital, and dental and oral hospital.

“I think, UNAIR is absolutely ready to raise the issue. As we know that our university excels on that, “Junaidi added.

Meanwhile, Viqi Ardaniah, M.A. Linguistics, as Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) staff of UNAIR who also attended the event via telephone said that UNAIR’s involvement in the event could actually attract researchers and professors from various worlds to visit UNAIR and present at the grand event next October.

“The main purpose is to get them to visit UNAIR. In addition, this kind of activity can improve visiting professors activities to UNAIR, ” she explained. (*)
